Zexion nodded and put it in the sink, quickly turning on the water in order to wash the bowl out. “Didn’t think you’d be one to turn down sweets, Yuffie.” He said curiously, glancing at her from the corner of his eye. “You okay?

He continued to move around the kitchen, removing the apron as he cleaned the counters.

“Didn’t think you’d be one to turn down sweets, Yuffie.”

“You okay?

Shooting her head up, she rubbed her tummy lightly before placing her hand down to her side. “Oh i’m fine!” Lie.

“I- Can i just have a drink of water please?” She laughed out nervously.

Joshua had spent his time by finding out what made his father tick. A rather silent man, usually cowering in the shadow of his mother. Joshua had found that he would tick nervously whenever she wasn’t in the room, a quirk that Joshua quickly found out was only made worse when Joshua began tapping his fingers along the table. He smirked to himself when the two women came back into the room all bright and smiling. Looks like Yuffie had done it. And Joshua had sucessfully made his father a complete mess. 

“Are the dishes all clean?” Joshua asked Yuffie curiously, raising his eyebrow in such a way that would tell the girl he meant a little bit more than what he was saying. He hoped the ravenette would understand the hidden meaning and give him a clear answer in return.

Walking back into the dining room, she made her way back to her seat as she gazed at Joshua who asked her a very simple question that obviously held a subtle hidden message in it too.

“All clean!” Winking at him playfully, she then proceeded to laugh for a brief second and grin widely, pretty much over the moon that she had actually finally done it.

Mission accomplished!

Yuffie sat back down casually next to her lovely ‘boyfriend’, Joshua, shooting him a small and friendly smile as she placed her hands on her lap. A little more comfortable to be in this situation now, since she had cleared the threatening tension her and Joshua’s mother had, the few hours before.

“Nah, I can barely take care of myself, to be honest. I’m always forgetting to eat,” Zack said sheepishly. Sometimes, he really did just rush things too much.

At her next comment, Zack laughed out loud and scratched the back of his head. “I’m pretty hot myself?” he repeated with a raised eyebrow and an amused smile. He appraised the girl, noticing that she said it without a second thought. “Wow, thanks. What’s your name? I’m Zack, by the way. Zack Fair,” he said happily, bending down towards her and the kitten.

“I’m pretty hot myself?”

Not really remembering the blurted out compliment from herself to him, she blinked, tilting her head. “Huh? Hot yourself? What are you-… did i really say that?” Laughing nervously, she begun to rub her neck.

“Sorry.. i.. uh tend to say random things.. without noticing..”

“Oh.. I’m the one and only-” Twirling around on the spot, she gave a big grin. “Yuffie Kisaragi!….. Zack? Cool name!” She chimed out playfully.

“I dunno, I’ve seen it done before.” Zexion told her, sliding the tray into the already preheated oven. He clicked the door shut with his hip as he grabbed the bowl he’d used to mix the batter. “Want this too, or can I wash it?”

“I dunno, I’ve seen it done before.”

As she continued to eat the left over batter that had covered the head of the wooden spoon she looked down at the bowl that he had offered. About to accept it, she heard a small rumble in the pit of her stomach making her stomach churn and turn.

She sat back, shaking her head.

“No thank you”

“I-I’m good with just this..” Holding the spoon up for a brief second, she placed it back in her mouth, being the stubborn one, she didn’t want to show Zexion was right about getting sick over batter. Must be from all the sweets she ate earlier today, if batter was the only sweet thing she ate today then maybe she could of handled the bowl too.. But no, she was getting an ache.. unfortunately.

Too much sweeeeeets. She grumbled mentally in her head.

I promise that during this week i’ll be getting through all my replies. I really apologise for keeping people waiting and the canons, we possibly planned to happen between my characters and yours, that were put to a hold for a week or two, but i’ve just been on the laptop day and night focusing on exams the last few weeks, that i just need a few naps to catch up on sleep and to chill outside for a bit away from the computer.

I promise that i WILL be getting through replies this week.

Zexion looked up from the tray as he set the bowl down. He glanced at the batter covered spoon and let out an exaggerated sigh. “Fiiine.” He said, faking annoyance as he handed her the spoon. “Don’t make yourself sick on it.”

“Hehe, yay!” She said playfully, before grabbing the spoon and shoving it in her mouth. “I won’t get sick!” The ravenette mumbled against the spoon.

back-to-the-books:

“Oh I’m sure someone would eat them.” Zexion shook his head, beginning to pour the cupcake batter into the tray.

He looked up at her and frowned. “It isn’t something to celebrate, Yuffie. It’s not.” He warned her. “If you try to celebrate it I’m going to be very upset. It’s April 27, but don’t go spreading that information around.” He added the last part under his breath.

Sighing, she continued to playfully pout. “Ohkay.. fine..”

“But cupcakes it is!” She stared at the wooden spoon covered in cupcake batter before pointing at it innocently.

“….can i have that spoon for a minute..please?”
